METHODS THAT GET RESULTS…Back & Neck Pain Brisbane
SCENAR (Self-Controlled Energo Neuro Adaptive Regulator)
Pain relief, mobility & movement technology…
The SCENAR is a handheld device that delivers electrical signals throughout the skin. If someone is suffering stress, pain, injury or disease for an extended period, the body maintains a pathological state where the sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight) is switched on or over-stimulated and the parasympathetic nervous system (rest, recovery, healing and rejuvenation) is switched off or under-stimulated.
This imbalance places the nervous system in a heightened, reactive state, disrupting the body’s internal healing and making myofascial tissue less responsive to treatment. SCENAR therapy causes a gradual shift of activity from the sympathetic to the parasympathetic nervous system and gradually restores balance between the two.
It relieves the pain and inflammation of the injured area by stimulating the neural activity of the “difficult-to-excite” neuropeptide-producing C-nerve fibres. Neuropeptides are best described as the body’s “internal pharmacy of chemicals”. Its increased production prompts rapid healing to muscle tears and profound healing to tendons, cartilage and ligament damage.
This is not an experimental device. It has gained widespread acceptance by doctors in Europe. In the US, it is registered for pain relief and as a bio-feedback device with the FDA. Australia has recently listed the device with the TGA.
With the shift in neural activity, the body is now far more responsive to Myotherapy (SLM) to promote change to those longstanding imbalances in the muscular system. It can be very difficult to achieve such a result in dysfunctional bodies using Myotheraphy alone.
Nervous system imbalances can be addressed in other ways¸ such as concentrating on lifestyle and diet. If the patient has already done this, SCENAR therapy is not always necessary. For others, SCENAR can speed up the body’s responsiveness to treatment (in conjunction with other lifestyle changes).
